RMF Attend Sandwell College Construction Business Breakfast
RMF Fresh Start were thrilled to be welcomed to the Construction Business Breakfast arranged by Sandwell College.
The Construction Business Breakfast was organised to promote the West Midlands Combined Authority Construction Gateway Project to potential employers in the room.
The Construction Gateway Project focuses on providing the relevant qualifications for candidates from a long-term unemployed background to enter the Construction industry which is partly driven due to both a large industry skills gap coupled with future employment demands within the region relating to HS2 and the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
RMF Fresh Start were in great company as the Construction Business Breakfast was also attended by The West Midlands Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner, Ashley Bertie.
Ashley Bertie thanked Sandwell College for the opportunity to promote the employment of ex-offenders in the construction industry – stating “This is a gap we should be exploiting and manipulating so as a society we profit. We want to support and encourage organisations, exemplifying your work, to ensure that all people – regardless of their background – get their opportunities”.
It is encouraging to see the support from Ashley Bertie, as well as through other prospective employers in the room such as Balfour Beatty, who are part of the integral final piece to the project which aims for long-term sustainable employment for those involved.
